Quest to Evolve Is Continuous Improvement

Quest to Evolve is continuous improvement. It’s the curiosity for something new, the desire to go beyond what’s known. - Paola Manta, Group HR Manager

Quest to evolve is continuous improvement. It’s the curiosity for something new, the desire to go beyond what’s known. I am a mother of a 2 years old and when I watch her explore and interact with the world, I can really recognize in her the Quest to Evolve. Kids are curious. Kids have a natural desire to know the world that is unclear and beyond their understanding. They have a hunger for information and the will to ask questions to learn. They are driven by a sense of exploration, and by an enthusiastic knowledge motivation. They naturally see the world through brand-new eyes, not by following a pre-defined or given pattern. And this visionary attitude is also extremely concrete, because envisioning the future means making sense of the current world for them; and this capability to look ahead while making pragmatic assumptions, is perfectly linked to the Bolton DNA. So this is the Quest to Evolve for me: to look at the world through a newborn’s eyes, every day.

At Bolton, Quest to Evolve is history. It is what brought our company to shed its skin for 70 years, improving and reaching ever-greater heights. How it is possible to do so in everyday life? By questioning ourselves, it is by being brave enough to get out of the comfort zone, by being curious to do things differently from the ordinary or bold to explore the new, it’s by being pioneers and never completely satisfied, always striving for more. For me, Quest to Evolve is vital energy. In my worklife it’s what relieves the fatigue for the path I am taking because it shows the destination I want to reach.

For me Quest to Evolve has a pinch of madness and bravery. It’s only by adding a touch of madness that we can unleash our curiosity, that we can ask ourselves the right questions, challenging ourselves and the others, that we can walk through the unknown, even when we don’t have enough information to do it. And it’s by doing so that we might discover the real next big thing, and enjoy the journey towards it.
