For Design for Value to truly succeed, it requires a great agility. Between painting the future and managing present details.
Design for value is a distinctive trait of the Bolton culture. Attaching great importance to the daily activities of identifying and then giving life to every, idea, project and ambition, capable of creating that value that allows us to invest, to prosper and to ensure the prosperity of our company. - Luca Alemanno, CEO of Bolton Food
In our work, it means mapping out every direction before starting a project in order to understand where we want to go and to know where each step and each decision will take you. With the awareness that the success and the failure of every project lies in the attention we give to every single detail. As for building a mosaic, we have the decision behind the placement of every single piece is what determines, at the end, its final beauty. That’s where design for value comes into play, it helps us remember to not to focus only on where we want to go, but on which is the best way to get there. To always ask questions, actively seek answers, and stay curious.
For Design for Value to truly succeed, it requires a great agility. Between painting the future and managing present details. Between now and tomorrow. Between thoughts and actions. It contains a great call for concreteness, typical of Bolton, because it questions if we are using time and resources properly in everything we do, be it a concrete project or a ppt presentation. An excel file or a meeting...it reminds us to ask ourselves: Where is the value? Am I creating value? Is it worth it?
Design for value is especially important to me because I know that I work at a company that allows me to express my unique contribution through ideas, new achievements and new ways of doing things. I know the result of my work is visible, I can find it every morning when I enter the office or log on to my computer. I see what I have done the day before, on my own or with the support of my team, and I know that I can continue to create, to challenge myself even further because this is what is expected of me.... and this makes me feel important because I know that I am making a concrete contribution to the future of the company to which I belong.
