This month, we won the Call for Ecodesign organised by CONAI, the Italian National Packaging Consortium, with 16 of our sustainable packaging projects.

We dedicate maximum attention to the selection of raw materials, carry out stringent controls across the supply chain, and support consumers with educational and research & development projects to continuously improve the quality of our products.

In our Food and Home & Personal Care plants, we have introduced a number of measures aiming at reducing water consumption or replacing water sourced from aqueducts with wells.

At the manufacturing plants, we launched waste management projects aimed at reducing waste from manufacturing, with clear benefits for both the environment and our business operations.

Over the last years, we carried out several initiatives to make our manufacturing plants more efficient and sustainable, reduce our energy consumption and increase the use of electrical energy from renewable sources.

In line with its commitment to sustainable development, Rio Mare is now the first seafood brand in the world to obtain the EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) certification from DNV.
